AI4People-Frontria Summit 2027: Building a Trustworthy Society Against Disinformation and Misinformation

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟏𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟏𝟖𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐬. It will bring together experts from academia, business, government, media and non-profit sectors who will gather 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐫𝐚 as well as to potentially shape future regulatory and policy frameworks that foster a trustworthy digital society grounded in ethical principles, democratic values, and the common good.

Since the publication of the 𝐀𝐈𝟒𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞’𝐬 𝐄𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐀𝐈 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 in 2018 https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11023-018-9482-5, AI4People has strongly promoted the start of a broader debate on AI Ethics in Europe, which laid the foundations of the regulatory process in the European Union.

From September 2026, AI4People Institute started a strategic Alliance Partnership with Frontria https://en-portal.research.global.fujitsu.com/frontria/– a global consortium of leading companies, start-ups, research institutions and not-for-profit organisations collaborating to develop solutions for the various challenges arising from the evolution of AI.

Building upon the thematic areas identified during the special session of the AI4People 2025 Summit, this upcoming 2027 Summit will feature 𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢-𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬/𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞: from understanding how harmful narratives spread through emotional and ecosystem dynamics (WS 1), to detecting and disrupting them (WS 2), and examining their impact on democratic processes (WS 3) and public health trust (WS 4). The sessions extend to safeguarding trust in financial systems (WS 5), strengthening citizen resilience through education and media literacy (WS 6), advancing detection, verification and mitigation technologies (WS 7), and finally addressing platform accountability and digital governance as the structural backbone for a trustworthy digital society (WS 8).
