Xinpeng Liu is a PhD Candidate at the School of Law, University of Galway. He earned his Bachelor of Laws degree from Nanjing Agricultural University in 2022, where he led a research team on a university-funded project titled “The Causes of Medical Disputes and Legal Countermeasures.” During his undergraduate studies, he received multiple accolades, including the Outstanding Student Scholarship, and was recognized as an Outstanding Undergraduate Graduate. He has also passed the Chinese National Judicial Examination and authored publications in the fields of intellectual property and competition law.
In 2023, Xinpeng completed his Master of Laws degree at University College London. Under the supervision of Professor Sir Robin Jacob, he conducted research on the copyright protection of AI-generated outputs. He is now pursuing his PhD, focusing on the copyrightability of AI-generated works, under the guidance of Dr. Rónán Kennedy, Dr. Abigail Rekas, and Dr. Mamoona Asghar.
