Professor of Responsible Artificial Intelligence at Umeå University
Vincent C. Müller is Alexander von Humboldt Professor for “Theory and Ethics of AI” and Director of the Centre for Philosophy and AI Research (PAIR) at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. He previously held positions at Eindhoven University of Technology, the Alan Turing Institute in London, the University of Leeds, and the University of Oxford. A leading figure in the philosophy and ethics of artificial intelligence, he has coordinated major international research projects and currently serves as Chair of the Society for the Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence and Editor of the journal Philosophy of AI. His publications include books with Oxford University Press and Cambridge University Press, as well as numerous influential papers on AI, ethics, and cognitive systems. In 2025, he received the Covey Award from the International Association for Computing and Philosophy.
