An expert in privacy, personal data, and AI ethics, Cory is a former Associate Professor in Communication Design and Information Systems at Linköping University (2015–2025). Cory founded the Nordic Privacy Center and the Nordic Nerds reading group and currently advises private corporations on data governance and privacy. Cory’s research focuses on sensitive data disclosure, surveillance technology, and ethical data collection in wearables and IoT, with particular emphasis on how cultural values shape perceptions of personal data. Cory is a board member at DFRI (Sweden’s Digital Freedom and Rights Association) and recently studied consumer views on data privacy in drone delivery across the US and five Nordic countries. Cory’s work is driven by a commitment to fostering meaningful, ethical change in the digital landscape.
